What does the actual cmd give:
Code:
hostname

[root@mythtv ~]# hostname
mythtv
[root@mythtv ~]#

Information on removing a frontend can be found here. The last entry in that thread tells you how to remove it from xymon.

Looking at the code and the message you posted I think you have an old version of xymon installed.
Code:
pacman -Ss xymon

Returns:
core/xymonclient 4.3.17-18
Xymon is a system for monitoring of hosts and networks
core/xymonserver 4.3.17-18 [installed]
Xymon is a system for monitoring of hosts and networks

Which looks like current versions.

Those are current and shouldn't be generating that message. I am thinking the alert is stuck in xymon. What is:
Code:
ls /home/xymon/var/login_alerts/

Returns nothing and I'm not getting the message during login.

Try reinstalling xymon:
Code:
sudo pacman -S xymonserver

Then drop myth_mtc. It should get recreated in a few minutes:
Code:
/home/xymon/server/bin/xymon 127.0.0.1 "drop mythtv myth_mtc"

Well that seems to have done the trick. mythtv - myth_mtc now reports the correct log name.
Code:
 Mon Aug 03 10:46:06 EDT 2015

 Maintenance completed successfully.
       Log file: /var/log/2015-08-03/mythtv_myth_mtc.log

 12 days of guide data

 No remote backup jobs queued

Instead of Log file: /var/log/2015-08-03/myth_mtc.log

Thanks for the help!

mattbatt, thanks!

nicom, I don't think that mythdot error is keeping myth_mtc from completing but can you post the contents of that file?
From your description it sounds the machine is not able to finish all the tasks in the time it is idle. You can check your log files and if the last line is not Finished Maintenance then not everything is done and the status will remain red.

The funny thing is all the logs say Maintenance Finished even on a day when it was condition red all day.

I agree that the mythdot error is not causing the problem. Since the weekend I have stopped the shutdown and the condition reds are now limited to 1 hour at midnight. I think I just need to work out how best to keep the machine idle enough to avoid getting condition red warnings while watching something. It's a balance between power conservation and nuisance factor. I may still remove the phantom just for completeness.

I found the issue with the mythdot and have a fix for it.

My MBE has a wake time for most of the day but you could do something similar and have it wake for 30 or 40 mins at like 3am.
