I've noticed that every time I update my LinHES-config package, it moves my /etc/wol-lircrc to /etc/wol-lircrc-(whatever the date is). It doesn't replace it with anything and winds up breaking my remote configuration in Web-On-LinHES until I move it back. I had manually created the file since I couldn't figure out how to get my remote working with it otherwise. Is there a way I can get around this, for example, by placing a 'master' wol-lircrc somewhere in the system that LinHES-config is looking to copy it from? Or alternatively, can LinHES-config be made to overlook that file? Or, perhaps even preferably, can Web-On-LinHES be changed to look for wol-lircrc in the home directory like Mythfrontend does in /home/mythtv/.mythtv (where I've replaced the symlink to /etc to keep LinHES-config from overwriting my custom frontend remote configuration)?

EDIT: Since it's overwriting some of my other settings, too (like some custom things I did to the web server in my lighttpd configuration), would it be alright to just blacklist LinHES-config from upgrades, or is that gonna break some of the other newer packages when they get installed?

EDIT 2: Nevermind, that lighttpd thing might have actually just been an upgrade to the lighttpd package itself... I noticed that the backup was a .pacsave and not the date-formatted thing like the other.

Create a custom template for your remote and include your custom wol-lircrc file: http://linhes.org/projects/linhes/wiki/ ... -Templates

You can put your modifications for lighttpd in /etc/lighttpd/html.include and they shouldn't get overwritten.

Ah! Thank you very much! I feel like I should have been able to find that one -- not sure how I missed it!

Also, by creating your own custom template you can restore the symlink in /home/mythtv/.mythtv to /etc.
