I've been using plex to watch my mythtv recordings while away from home. This works very well except for if I try to watch a program that is currently recording. In that case, the recording will start at the beginning but then ends after watching the amount of time the recording is delayed. For example, if I record a 2 hour movie and start watching it after 15 minutes, plex will show the first 15 minutes and then return to the menu. I can then go back to the recording and then I can see the next 15 minutes after fast forwarding.

Is this expected behavior and is there any way to keep plex updating so it knows the recording is still on going?

Thanks

That's not how I would expect it to work but it might have to do with the Plex Server transcoding the file for your phone. Does the same thing happen if you are using the Plex Roku app or a PC at home?
That sounds like a Plex problem not necessarily a MythTV problem

The behavior is the same for web or roku. Playback only shows until the timing of when the playback started.

Not the end of the world but it does make watching time shifted life tv almost impossible.

The pvr.mythtv addon in kodi used to do the same thing, but was corrected by the developer. I would say that plex will need to be responsible for a fix / workaround for it.
