Hi,

I have moved from Mythdora to LinHES, and have managed to get everything going well (touch wood), except the LCD.

From my Mythdora experience, my SoundGraph iMON LCD needs 'imonlcd', not 'imon'.
The current 'lcdproc' in LinHES is 0.5.2, and 'imonlcd' is not an option.
I either need a patched version, or preferably version 0.5.3.

Will 0.5.3 be added in the repositories soon? [released in June 2009]

If not, what will be the "cleanest" way to get it going?
- option 1: get from another repository
- option 2: compile from source
- option 3: ???

regards,
Mykola

Option 4: Open a task in the R6 bug tracking system requesting it: http://linhes.org/flyspray The devs are very busy and work on LinHES in their spare time so it probably won't happen overnight (but it could).

Option 3: You can probably update the existing package for LinHES by learning arch's PKGBUILD system to compile. Pacman is the package manager that Arch and LinHES use. It is VERY powerful and is the way you want to go about installing software on your box. If you are somewhat Linux fluent you should be able to figure it out.

Here is a link to all the LinHES pacakges/PKGBUILD files for you to see: http://linhes.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/LinHES- ... /tree/abs/

Use the Arch wiki and forums to learn more about it.

http://bbs.archlinux.org/index.php
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PKGBUILD

EDIT: I just found "lcdproc" in the AUR so you can probably either use it directly in LinHES or use the PKGBUILD for it as a template in LinHES - http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?O ... _Search=Go

BTW, if you do end up successfully making your own package, post it to a flyspray so the devs can review it and potentially add it to the LinHES repos.

Thanks graysky.

I will look at Pacman first, before putting a request on Flyspray (if needed).
Now I need to find the time to learn Pacman... :)

I will be looking at lcdproc over the break for R6.

My recollection is 0.5.3 does not have the entire patch so you may wish to try 0.5.2 with the patch as I had it in the 5.5 how-to. Let me know if that works any better.

@graysky, mkyrylen properly found my flyspray entry #357. I will also be working on #358.

I got it working with a modprobe change...

Do a search on here in the sections...

I think the imon driver should work.. (I can't remember now. My brain is melted as it's almost 3am)
