Hello,

creation of an additional user failed during LinHES R6.01.00 installation; then, I created it manually later, using adduser -m -G -s command.

I am not sure which group a regular user should be member of, on a LinHES box ? For instance, what are the groups assigned by LinHES installer, when creating a new user ?

Unfortunately, within service menu, user creation page displays a blank screen, stating that I have no right to access the feature. Is there a fix for that as well ?

Thanks.

Dunno about a fix for the service menu but if you take a look at which groups the mythtv user belongs to in /etc/group - you should probably put your user in them.

Code:
$ cat /etc/group | grep mythtv

I just did a quick check and my regular user is a member of its own group. ie. user=myuser and group=myuser.

It is also members of the following groups:
root video audio optical storage users

which seems a little more liberal than I exected.

You could always add a new user with the service menu and see what it does.

Thank you christ, it is what I was looking for.

I did see this when I upgraded to 0.22 from testing but before LinHES service menu was updated. It was updated about 2 weeks ago.

If you are still running 0.21 then I have no quick answer.

Yes, this is the case, unfortunately.
Thank you.
