I was going to order a 2TB drive to do a fresh install of Linhes 7 but I have found that I have two 1TB drives that I'm not currently using for anything.

As a newbie is there a way to do a Linhes 7 install and be able to use the combined capacity of these two 1TB drives for my recordings and videos?

Probably the easiest way is to setup the 2nd drive as a storage group.
Linhes currently doesn't have an automated way to set this up, you will have to manually format and add the 2nd drive to fstab so that it mounts.

After that, add the new dir as a storage group by running mythtv-setup.

Yes storage groups make everything easy. you can have your recordings on both drives and MythTv will just see them in both drives.

The way I do mine is I have an 80GB boot drive with all the bits and pieces on it and I have 2 x 2TB drives as storage.

I have added the drives as you would a normal Arch system and then in MythTV you just add them to a storage group and it all works out from there. It automatically spreads the recordings over the three drives, I also do some other funky stuff with the Video's directory but that is another story.
