I have been running KnopMyth version R5F27 happily since 2007, but now need to upgrade to add support for a digital tuner (HVR-850). When booting LinHes 7.4 I get the following message:

"this kernel requires the following features not present on the cpu cx8 cmov"

I gather that at one point in the development of KnopMyth/Linhes some kernel compile flags have changed that make it no longer work on the hardware I have.

Does anyone know when this switch took place (hoping that there is a version that supports my new digital tuner)?

Is there a way to compile all binaries in the distribution so that they will work on my hardware?

Alternatively , does anyone have recommendations for a board with the same (mini-ITX) form factor that does work with the latest LinHes version?

Thanks!

Nico

VIA Epia M-series board, probably one of their VIA Eden ESP processors, can check for more details if useful

OK... that makes sense. I'm actually surprised that the debian kernel and packages run on your VIA chip. As you know, KM was based on debian unstable and LH is based on Arch. Arch Linux does not run on VIA processors; you have only two flavors: i686 and x86_64. Think you're out of options if you want to use LH but let one of the LH devs comment.

The R6 series is the start of requiring an i686 class cpu and dropping support for 586.
The via chip almost makes it, but they didn't fully implement the spec and it's somewhere between a i586 and 686 cpu.
