Post subject:  Problems with HD=PVR

New installation from scratch on a new hard drive.

I have an Hauppauge HD PVR 1212 connected to a Motorola QIP-6200 on Verizon FIOS using a component cable. I have been using this setup for over 2 years using Mythdora and a firewire change script 6200ch.

In my new 8.1 installation, I can not get the STB to change channels.

I have spent some time with google and see that a script mythchanger can be used to change channels. I do not have seem to have mythchanger available. There is no /bin/mythvchanger in my system. Using pacman -S mythchanger reports that mythchanger does not exist.

I can set the channel change script to /bin/true and watch whatever channel the STB is set to, but I can't change channels.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Google brought it up as the first link:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/majoridiot?acti ... f.beta.tar

This is what I use.

You may also find: https://code.google.com/p/stb-command/

to be useful. I wrote it to send other (non-channel change) commands to the STB such as power on, off and status check.

Thanks for the reply!

I came across the link you suggested before I posted but somehow I was hoping (maybe naively) there was a built in solution in Linhes.

After getting some development tools, I was able to use this link and install mythchanger. Things are working fine now.

Thanks!

Joe
