Having a similar hang as viewtopic.php?f=22&t=23966&hilit=hang

I'm installing a front end only system with a Intel Graphics controller (integrated), 2Gb RAM, and a E4500 CPU.

Looking in the /tmp/mythvantage_install.log, I see:

______No database required, continuing configuration________

sh: -c: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token `;'
sh: -c: line 1: `; } 2>&1'
______Unmounting disk______
mv_install.py exit code 0

Any thoughts on this error?

One more tidbit:

Forcing a reboot results in the following message on the screen:

No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key

This appears to be a BIOS message.

There should also be a debug log in /tmp
What does it say?

I threw in a nvidia card (Zotac G210) and it made it all the way through the install. I pressed the Reboot button and took out the disk. The FE rebooted and I got the same "No Bootable Device..." error.

Yup - that was it. Got to the hang part, manually toggled the boot flag using fdisk, then forced a reboot and she came right up!

Thanks!

Was using 8.1.1 BTW. Open to test patches if you'd like - contact me if you'd like!

When I migrated to LinHES 8.1, I had to do the same for an asus mb/Intel pentium system to get it to boot, on the 3 zotac ion systems I did not have to do this. Drove me crazy til I found the linked info about fdisk.
