Interestingly, I also have /etc/pacman.conf.pacnew that looks like a generic Arch version that may have been modified into the LinHES version I'm running.

I wonder if the "community" portion was ignored up until this latest update.

If I added it, I can't find anything in my notes or Google searches on my original update problem that would suggest why I did it, or what source may have guided me to. (Unless I foolishly read advice from an Arch forum...)

Anyway, I will comment out the "community" section and do an update at my next "downtime" that I can schedule for Myth.

Thanks for the advice.

Just to clarify, usually if I modify any file, I add comments indicating why I did it. I also usually create a backup copy appended with the date.

Lack of comments in my pacman.conf, or any of my other usual indicators make me think some program did it, or else I completely flaked out and didn't follow ANY of my own rules!

So, I'm just curious, especially for those who have still not updated to 8.5.2, has anyone else discovered a "community" reference in their pacman.conf?

My LinHES system doesn't have any addons, and its only job is to run MythTV, so I'm puzzled.

At least I got the update working and all is good now.

Dan

Another flawless upgrade!

Upgraded my intel based Master backend via the command line upgrade (deleted item recommended and answered yes to all items) and the upgrade went flawlessly!

Then upgraded my 3 ion slave backends the same way, no issues!

When it came to upgrading my raspberry pi 3+ frontend, all I had to do was change the repository for MythTv light and follow the rest of the install actions outlined in the wiki and again, no issues!

Thanks again for all the hardwork on keeping LinHES up to date and easy to use!

Bruce.
