Just upgraded to 8.5.2 the upgrade went flawlessly!

However I was using an usb2 pvr which no longer works. It did work in 8.5.1 but I believe that it's no longer supported in the latest release. Is there anyway to get it to work? The device is recognized in dmesg but says " pvrusb2-context Tainted" It looks like the latest kernel no longer supports the device. But I'm not sure.

Code:

Do you see any of the messages mentioned in this bug: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=198675

Where you fully updated in R8.5.1 to the 4.9.73 kernel?

Does lsusb show the device? I am guessing the /dev/video* nodes are not being created?

Didn't see anything related to the bug report.
lsusb returns
Code:
Bus 007 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 006 Device 002: ID 2040:2900 Hauppauge
Bus 006 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 1a86:7523 QinHeng Electronics HL-340 USB-Serial adapter
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

And you are correct that /dev/video* is not being created.

Any progress on this yet?

Not trying to be stupid here, but is the correct firmware being loaded or it hasn't been damaged in some way?

I know I have a (much) earlier version of LinHES and a different tuner, but as I understand it, the 500 is effectively 2 USB tuners, but if I try this:

Code:
dmesg | grep -E 'dvb-usb|dib0700|DVB'
[    3.434850] dib0700: loaded with support for 20 different device-types
[    3.435069] dvb-usb: found a 'Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Dual DVB-T' in cold state, will try to load a firmware
[    3.571940] dvb-usb: downloading firmware from file 'dvb-usb-dib0700-1.20.fw'
[    3.777501] dib0700: firmware started successfully.
[    4.278215] dvb-usb: found a 'Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Dual DVB-T' in warm state.
[    4.278257] dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer.
[    4.278315] DVB: registering new adapter (Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Dual DVB-T)
[    4.371338] DVB: registering adapter 1 frontend 0 (DiBcom 3000MC/P)...
[    4.865154] dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer.
[    4.865278] DVB: registering new adapter (Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Dual DVB-T)
[    4.871044] DVB: registering adapter 2 frontend 0 (DiBcom 3000MC/P)...
[    5.376847] dvb-usb: Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Dual DVB-T successfully initialized and connected.
[    5.376999] usbcore: registered new interface driver dvb_usb_dib0700

(I edited out some lines referring to the other (Non 500) tuner for clarity)

So would I expect to see what firmware is being loaded being reported.

I believe that was for an ARM implementation.
