Hello all,

Please forgive me if this has already been asked but I have not been able to find any references.

Has anyone here managed to successfully use TVHeadEnd as a network tuner in MythTV? If so, how did you do it? I stumbled across a web page a few years ago that had instructions on how to set it up but I can't for the life of me find it again.

Thanks.

To answer my own question....

I found the web page I was looking for.

https://mattts.net/mythtv-iptv/

Now to go home and try it out. I'll post back if/when I'm successful.

Good luck with your project. I do not have experience with tvheadend. however, after reviewing the instructions provided, I just wanted to mention that there are some steps in those instructions that you will not need to do (ie: no need to install ffmpeg), also, the .deb package referenced will not work on archlinux.

there is a tvheadend package located on the archlinux aur, but I do not see one in the linhes repo.

I always caution against using packages not in the official linhes repo. Doing so may conflict with linhes packages.

After reviewing the dependencies, it appears it might work. however at a minimum, the package uriparser is missing from the linhes repo

I ended up ditching LinHES and following his lead with Xubuntu and installing from scratch. I figured the machine will be virtual anyway so I don't need the nice bells and whistles that LinHES has.

And it all worked like a charm.
