Post subject:  [SOLVED] Video Quality

I am trying to figure out why the video is grainy via 'Watch TV' while recording via a command line is much clearer when using the exact same hardware, cables and source.

This is what I have:
LinHES v6.03
Capture Card: Hauppauge PVR-250
Video Card: ATI Radeon 9200

So, when I enter the following at the command line:

cat /dev/video0 > /mythdata/video/testing.mpg

I get a really clear video.

When I use the 'Watch TV' option, the picture is grainy. The resulting recording is also grainy.

It seems like 'Watch TV' uses some configuration settings that differ from the command line I use above. Does anyone know if there is any place within MythTV that these settings can be altered to improve the quality? Maybe even being allowed to enter the command line above?

Any ideas / suggestions?

Thank you

Post subject:  [SOLVED] Video Quality

Looks like a lot more searching and trial and error solved the problem. It turns out I needed to set the 'Current Video Playback Profile' to 'High Quality'. This can be found in 'Service Menu | MythTV Configuration | Setup | TV Settings | Playback | Playback Profiles' is anyone has run into the same problem.

Thanks for looking at my initial post.
