My hard drive crashed and I had to re-install. My last install was R06.03 so I started there so I could use the last back-up of my database. I the past I did:
Code:
sudo pacman -S v4l-dvb
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...

Targets (1): v4l-dvb-1-17

Total Download Size:    0.00 MB
Total Installed Size:   9.21 MB

Proceed with installation? [Y/n] y

but I am getting these errors:
Quote:
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
v4l-dvb: /lib/firmware/cpia2/stv0672_vp4.bin exists in filesystem
v4l-dvb: /lib/firmware/dabusb/bitstream.bin exists in filesystem

v4l-dvb: /lib/modules/2.6.28-LinHES/kernel/drivers/media/video/zr364xx.ko exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

Is there a "force" option and should I use it?

Well, I had exactly the same problem, was working, can't get it to work again after a crash. Can get v4l -dvb drivers installed by pacman, but they don't work. (Perhaps the id 4903 problem.) Can't get bugfix 723 ( http://linhes.org/bugs/issues/723 ) working, though it worked a month ago (Your 'exists in filesystem' failure).

See tail end of: http://knoppmyth.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.p ... 3&start=15

I think we're stuck until the HDPVR giru's have a look at the problem.

Reported as Bug # 764
http://linhes.org/bugs/issues/764

Edit:
As of mid May 2011 (First I noted it through testing....)
LinHes 7.00.02 as updated by pacman -Syu
will now open a 4903 HD-PVR in 'card setup' (as a H.264 device)

I have noted the last pacman -Syu update for 7.00.02 allowed my 4903 HD-PVR to be recognized in 'card setup' on my older (no-VDPAU) test machine...

I now contemplate changing over to 7.00.02 (Latest update) my family room production machine from a bugfix compiled 6.04 that supports the HD-PVR, but wouldn't work on any remote or IR blaster afterwords...

I'd like a couple of tricks in my pocket, so I was looking into Mythtv's HD-PVR page ( http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/HD-PVR ) which indicates that Mythtv has support for feed through of the channel change to the IR blaster on the HD-PVR, so that the HD-PVR sends the channel change IR signal to the satellite box (Dish). The catch is that your distro has to have implemented it.

Anyone know if this was implemented on 7 ? (It doesn't work on my current 6.04) & if so, anybody using it ? Any tips ?
