Just did a new install of R6.02 with Foxconn H61MX board using what it says is a Realtek ALC662/ALC888S audio chip. But no soundcards are recognized:

Code:
[root@Famroom jason]# aplay -l
aplay: device_list:240: no soundcards found...

Though I do see an Intel audio device listed as hardware:

Code:
[root@Famroom jason]# lspci
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Device 0100 (rev 09)
00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Device 0101 (rev 09)
00:16.0 Communication controller: Intel Corporation Device 1c3a (rev 04)
00:1a.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation Device 1c2d (rev 05)
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation Device 1c20 (rev 05)
00:1c.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Device 1c10 (rev b5)
00:1c.2 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Device 1c14 (rev b5)
00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation Device 1c26 (rev 05)
00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation Device 1c5c (rev 05)
00:1f.2 SATA controller: Intel Corporation Device 1c02 (rev 05)
00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation Device 1c22 (rev 05)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G86 [GeForce 8500 GT] (rev a1)
04:00.0 PCI bridge: Integrated Technology Express, Inc. Device 8893 (rev 10)
05:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82541PI Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 05)

Also, I do not appear to have any sound modules loaded:

Code:
[root@Famroom jason]# find /lib/modules/2.6.28-LinHES | grep snd

Can anyone offer any advice here? My googling has come up dry so far.

The solution essentially was just to download the driver from Realtek's website. The tricky thing is that I had to run
Code:
pacman -Su
pacman -S patch
before installing. Then I ran alsaconfig, rebooted, ran alsamixer to unmute the spdif, and I was good to go.
