After upgrading to R8.3 using the ISO I have and annoying issue that does not cause a failure but didn't happen in R8,1 or R8,2. It's a channel tuning issue.

When tuning to a channel on my hdpvr I now get the same message that you get when you tune a pchdtv hd5500 and the channel is not there. ("You should have had a channel lock by now" etc...)

Anyone else seeing this? Is there a way to get rid of it?

Ok I've done some more research and found that this was a problem in release-0-24-fixes. since then it was fixed.
I found the solution in the comments at the bottom of the trouble ticket page.
Code:
I still get the popup window almost immediately (<=2 seconds after channel switch). It goes away as soon as the signalmonitor shows "locked" - but I shouldn't be getting it.

You need to run mythtv-setup, edit the capture-card config for your HD-PVR, and adjust the channel change time-out to be whatever is appropriate for your system.
When I did the R8.2 - R8.3 ISO upgrade it recreated a new capture device for my HDPvr and had populated the channel change time-out with 2000 ms. I moved it out to 7000 that helped for awhile but the message came back after I rebooted.

So it helped some but tuning times seem to be even longer than they were before in R8.2
