Post subject: | Unencrypted HD Setup for WOW! |
After doing a channel scan on my TV some weekend ago I noticed that WOW! was now sending unencrypted digital hd channels in the upper 200 channels. All the basics, abc, nbc, fox, cbs, wb, & pbs were now free to record. I currently have my two HdHomerun units connected to a hand built OTA antenna, but if we get a bad storm things can get a bit "chunky" on cbs. Code: Logical Channel Broadcast Channel XMLid Call Sign
200 41 19601 WXYZDT WXYZDT (WXYZ-DT) 201 44 20376 WWJDT WWJDT (WWJ-DT) 202 7 19600 WJBKDT WJBKDT (WJBK-DT) 203 45 20359 WDIVDT WDIVDT (WDIV-DT) 204 14 25126 WKBDDT WKBDDT (WKBD-DT) 205 43 25512 WTVSDT WTVSDT (WTVS-DT) 206 21 24050 WMYDDT WMYDDT (WMYD-DT) 208 31 51970 WPXDDT WPXDDT (WPXD-DT) I initially setup Schedule Direct with the new channels, but for some reason the channels were not transferring to the backend. After a bit of tinkering I was able to get the backend to see the channels (ran a channel scan on for the HdHomerun), but there was no data for the channels. Using MythWeb I had to manually input the XMLid numbers from Schedule Direct along with the other channel data. Now everything works like a champ. I can now record reliable HD from my cable provider, and not get the evil look from the wife when the show gets "chunky". |

http://tinyurl.com/4t3vgab The strange thing is it doesn't tell you what country this provider is in. The only clue I had was service location was based on a zip code query and deep in their history page they mention they are in Denver (presumable USA). |

Looks like the headquarters are in Denver Colorado and they have service areas in Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Colorado. |
