Post subject:  Streaming to Android device on LAN

I was inspired by this youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOltm8px9DA.

My Android (Motorola Triumph) is LAN connected, however, I am not able to reproduce the list of recorded TV. In fact ,the screen seems to garbled (text row alignment is goobered).

Has anyone else had success with streaming to Android?

I've been using the flash player in mythweb to stream to my Droid for over a year. I can even do it when not on wi-fi.

@Big boy stan: Very cool. Is this the process you used to setup flash:

Is there a compellling reason to trancode and consume hard drive space: wouldn't it be better to view the .avi through the network? Just trying to understand the pros and cons of each path.

I just noticed that I can change the session setting so that the webserver thinks it is talking to a PC browser. This seemed to be much better than the mobile (WAP?) version.

ASX streaming does not seem to work on Android 2.2.

Cant honestly say I worked that hard at it. It worked for me pretty much out of the box.

I had flash working in mythweb on my PC for the longest time. Once my phone got updated with "froyo" and flash, all I did was go to my mythweb from my phone and click on the preview and it shows me the whole recording. Couple shortcomings are that I cant FF or Rew and I cant watch a recording that is in progress. I think both of these problems have been solved from looking at some post over at mythtv's wiki.

Do you have mythweb working on a PC and can you watch the flash? If so can you get to mythweb from your phone?
