I am interested in snapping screen captures. I have tried searching the for 'screenshots', but no joy. I'm hoping that this functionality already installed or that a simple package download will add this capability. Constructive guidance towards a simple solution is appreciated. Thank you.

Not at my machine to see if this is available with our distribution, but Linux’s native utility ‘xwd/xwud’ looks promising.

These are X windows dump utilities, so hopefully they will perform.

If you're talking about captures from videos and the like I believe that the MythTV player has that built-in. Xine and mplayer both do AFAIR.

Just tested, binding the screenshot key works, but hangs the FE. Best done on an existing recording. ;-)
