When trying to a Tuned Scan for both of these MUXes, using the LyngSat info for 28 east, I get no lock. I was able to tune the BBC MUX before the recent switch to S2.
There appears to be no way of selecting DVB-S2 using this method.
I tried modifying the existing MUX information for the BBC MUX (the Symbol rate and FEC). and Scanning a single MUX, but this failed as well.
There is a large tuning delay for the card, so it not timing out before tuning.

I'm able to tune into the various MUXes for SD Transmission and connecting a Freesat HD box to this connection allows viewing of the HD Channels as well, so there appears to be no problem there.

I'm using the most recent version of the firmware for the card and as below, LinHES R6.02.

You might want to check here:

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Hauppauge_Nova-HD-S2

Apparently, if the kernel is < v2.6.28 you need to install additinoal drivers to get S2 to work.

That's a bit of a problem as I don't have Internet access from home :lol:
But I'm pretty sure a raw 6.02 should have the correct kernel.

It's not desperate as I don't have a HDTV but, I would like to have them set up as BBC HD sometimes shows programmes not on BBC One, Two and Four.

Thanks anyway..

Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I've now come into the posession of an HD TV so this has now come back into focus.

So the the version of LinHES I'm running is:

Code:
Revision 23566M
Branches/release-0-22-fixes
LinHES R6.02.00

uname -a
Linux homenet-pvr 2.6.28-LinHES #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Nov 1 06:47:02 UTC 2009 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3700+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

SELECT value, data FROM settings WHERE value = 'DBSchemaVer' ;
+-------------+------+
| value       | data |
+-------------+------+
| DBSchemaVer | 1244 |
+-------------+------+

I've not got a current transport for C4 HD but for the BBC HD one is:

Code:
SELECT * FROM dtv_multiplex WHERE sourceid = 5 AND transportid = 2050;

| mplexid | sourceid | transportid | networkid | frequency | inversion | symbolrate | fec  | polarity | modulation | bandwidth | lp_code_rate | transmission_mode | guard_interval | visible | constellation | hierarchy | hp_code_rate | mod_sys | rolloff | sistandard | serviceversion | updatetimestamp     | default_authority |
+---------+----------+-------------+-----------+-----------+-----------+------------+------+----------+------------+-----------+--------------+-------------------+----------------+---------+---------------+-----------+--------------+---------+---------+------------+----------------+---------------------+-------------------+
|      89 |        5 |        2050 |         2 |  10847000 | a         |   23000000 | 8/9  | v        | qpsk       | NULL      | NULL         | NULL              | NULL           |       0 | NULL          | NULL      | NULL         | 1       | NULL    | dvb        |              0 | 2011-12-07 15:28:50 |

From another site:

Code:
Freq: 10847000
Polarity: Vertical
Symbol rate: 23000000
Mod Sys: DVB-S2
FEC: 8/9
Modulation: QPSK
Inversion: leave at auto
Rolloff: leave at 0.35

So mod_sys is the value for selecting DVB-S or S2, for DVB-T this shows as Undefined.

I've tried setting mod_sys to 2 & 3 to see if this would show DVB-S2 in the Transport editor, which it didn't.

Code:
UPDATE dtv_multiplex SET mod_sys=2 WHERE sourceid = 5 AND transportid = 2050;

So the basic question does LinHES 6.02 support DVB-S2 (nevermind DVB-T2)?

BTW it appears that C4HD has now a new multiplex:

Code:
Freq: 11126000
Polarity: Vertical
Symbol rate: 22000000
Mod System: DVB-S2
FEC: 2/3
Modulation: 8PSK

Tranport ID: 2068

I don't know which version supports 8PSK

Regards
Bruce S.
