Post subject: | Enable MythWeB Virtual Remote on LinHES 6.02 / 6.04 |
I would like to use a smartphone (Android \ iPhone) as a wifi remote control. My Google search found the instructions below and the remote was enabled. I verified by using Putty to telnet into the system. I rebooted the box. http://mythtv./remote/remote.html MythWeB Virtual Remote on IE8 could send remote commands. My Android phone was could bring up the MythWeB Virtual Remote, but it did not seem to send remote commands. Is there something that I need to do on my Android device to make this work? Does MythWeB Virtual Remote already work with iPhone? If you have this working with your Android device, please weigh-in. Instructions: Quote: Setup Menu, then General and continue until the fourth screen. There, you need to check the box "Enable Network Remote Control Interface". By default, it listens on TCP port 6546, but you are free to change it.
With this option enabled, now you are ready to control your MythTV box through a telnet session. To check if it works, just try to telnet your box on port 6546 |
