The Newest version of R5C7 has motion installed and working.. So all you need to do is getting a working webcam. I choose the quickcam express, because i had one lying around.. Following
the directions at

1. plugged in the camera
2.
Code:
#lsusb
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 046d:0870 Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Express

Referencing the quickcam driver website, I was good to go

3. downloaded and installed the driver directions according to the website
directions
Code:
#wget http://easynews.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/qce-ga/qc-usb-0.6.4.tar.gz
    #tar zxvf qc-usb-0.6.4.tar.gz
    #cd qc-usb-0.6.4/
    #./quickcam.sh

4. Configuring and testing motion, ensuring the right video device was setup. In my case this was /dev/video2
Code:
#nano /etc/motion/motion.conf

Code:
#/etc/init.d/motion start

5. Checking to make sure it was working, pointed my browser to my mythbox:
Code:
http://mythbox/motion/index.html

6. Ensured that everything was working,
Code:

#update-rc.d motion defaults 80

The only thing left to do is to ensure that the quickcam drivers are loaded on startup..

I hope this helps,

prosonik

I'm about to get quickcam express and i will definitely follow the instructions. Is the picture quality good enough or should i consider to buy some other webcam?
