Just a heads up for anybody thinking of running kernel 2.6.16 with a VIA chipset, there's a bug in it that causes bad skipping on sound in some applications. I've noticed it in fceu and mythmusic especially, but no problems whatsoever in mythtv proper or zsnes. Go figure. This occured for me with the Debian-supplied linux-image package in unstable as of this posting. This thread talks about the problem and fixing it, and also implies that this will still be a problem in 2.6.17. It occurred for somebody with a KM266 and on my KM400, I don't know about any other chipsets. |
