Noticed navigating menus with OpenGL on over VNC is near impossible. Found fix here. http://www.dslinux.org/blogs/pepsiman/?p=73 Adding -noxdamage to /home/mythtv/.fluxbox/apps x11vnc line allowed me to see every other menu movement ![]() Not sure of side effects of changing the Nvidia setting. |

Thanks for the tip! I can know enable OpenGL! I know that using the -noxdamage flag increases VNC network traffic but as it's on a 100 Mbit connection I don't really care. Does anyone know what effect (if any) disabling page flipping in nvidia-settings has? I did some googling but the few results I found were above my level of understanding. I just feel like I'm missing out on something by not having that box checked and I'd like to know what. Martian |

How do you change the nvidia settings? I have been trying to use VNC, and sometimes that mythfrontend window does not update, although I know it is changed. I have to quit the VNC session and reconnect to see the updated window. Quite frustrating. |

I have the same problem with the frontend not updating. I don't have a fix, but a workaround I use is to open up a terminal window (alt-x) and then switch between the two windows to force a refresh (alt-tab) Of course this also switches between programs in Windows, so if you have a lot of stuff open it's a pain. Better than restarting your VNC session though. |

Exit MythTV to the fluxbox desktop. Right click menu>apps>tools>nvidia-setting and somewhere in there is an Nvidia settings and is in there somewhere. |
