After recently upgrading to a newer version of ffmpeg all of my nuvexport conversions were suddenly very low quality.

To cut a long story short it turns out that the newer version of ffmpeg expects bitrates in bits per second, whereas the old one expected kilobits per second.

This wasn't immediately obvious because nuvexport, faced with a tiny bitrate, fell back to it's default lowest bitrate.

So if nuvexport or ffmpeg aren't giving the results you want it would be worth trying a bits per second bitrate instead of a kilobits ber second (or vice versa if your conversions are too big).

Hope this is useful to someone else,

Scotty.
