My bad... I put example code to do this in the restore_fixups.sh script, but left it commented out. I'll add a note to the R5E50 upgrade hints and send Cecil the fix.

I did an auto upgrade from R5D1, and afterwards both live TV and newly recorded programs had no audio, only silence. Previously recorded programs played fine (with sound). I had done the drop and re-add tuners stuff and followed the Upgrade Hints. I was getting an error like the one below in dmesg: Code: ivtv0: i2c hardware 0x00000008 (msp3400) not found for command What finally fixed it for me was to edit Code: /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv to remove the unrecognized "simple=1" (which also generated a warning in dmesg):Code: #options msp3400 once=1 simple=1
options msp3400 once=1 In case it matters, I have 2 PVR250 cards and 1 Air2PC HD5000 card (thought the DVB card is not yet configured...that's a story another thread involving much flaming of Comcast for not properly providing channel id's.) Dan PS: If you think this useful, please add it to the Upgrade Hints topic for R5E50. I sure spent a bunch of time finding a solution, and all my queries for the issue didn't quite match anything I found (eventually I got lucky). |

There's actually supposed to be an automated fixup for that. Hang on while I stare at it and the example you posted to figure out why it didn't clean this up... OK, look to see if you've got a script called /usr/local/bin/ivtv_upgrade_fix.sh that should contain the edit. I may need to get a fix to Cecil regardless... |
