To activate the bootsplash picture I did a simple add_bootsplash but didn't get a nice bootsplash picture after the reboot. Instead I got some messages like Looking for splash picture... no good signature found. After trying several things I found out what to do and changed the 1. line in /etc/lilo.conf to VGA=788 (was VGA=791). After on more reboot it worked. It seems that the resolution must be set to 800x600x16 (= Vesa Mode 788 or 0x314). Does it depend on the fb resolution and/or the color depth of the bootsplash image in /etc/bootsplash/images?!? Because trying to set VGA=789 (800x600x24) didn't work... I use my KnoppMyth box with a standard VGA monitor. Hope this helps someone else. |

I think the VGA setting has to match the bootsplash jpg image property being used in the config script. If they mismatch it gives this wierd message by which nobody would understand that this is the problem. |
