| Post subject: | How to define Tuner Priority |
Can you specify a specific tuner as the default primary recording device? I've got a 350 and a regular wintv card, and would prefer to encode on the 350 and watch TV on the other... is there an easy way to configure this? I've searched trying to find an answer to this... but without any success... Any idea's? Thanks |

well in the past whichever one you setup first has the highest priority. for instance I have pvr250 and leadtek(sofware) so I setup the pvr250 first that way whenever I record a program it will use the pvr250 unless I am recording two then it will fall back to the leadtek, however if I watch livetv it will grab the pvr250 because it is first card also then the recording wouldn't use it, exept that on the old scheduler it would promt me to get off so it could record. All that being said 0.15 (which I haven't used) has a completely new scheduler, and I believe it does have some ways to give cards priority for certain tasks etc. |

I've seen hints of additional methods of defining card priority, but haven't found anything in the menu's or via google, searching this board and the others I'm aware of... I wonder if it has anything to do with the names of the profiles for card recording's... Thanks for the thought... I may have something to try...

well it's supposed to be in the gui somewhere. I remember reading it, but I can't for the life of me remember where I read it or what menu/setup option it was under. |

I thought you could do this in the myth setup mythtv-setup (from xterm) under input connections, there is a part where it says input preference where you can set a number to your tuners (R4V4 -> Myth 0.15.1) |

Every time I go to 'Watch TV', it defaults to DVBInput. If I want to watch my cable STB I need to press Y to get S-Video instead. The above suggests that this is because DVB was the first input I set up, and I tend to agree, because in previous setups where I first setup S-Video before DVB, I think it defaulted the other way around. I really would like the default to be S-Video (without having to delete my settings and start all over again), and have tried assigning a higher 'Input preference' priority to the S-Video input in '4. Input Connections' but to no effect. Is there a way (in R5A26) to accomplish this? |
