| Post subject: | Quiet CPU and GPU fans... |
Well my system has a very quiet power supply put the P4 and 7300GT fans made a fair old racket when I was trying to sleep on the couch so I decided to hush them up a bit. Pretty simple really, just get a 1w100ohm resister and install inline on the red fan lead. You can play around with the ohm's and make them faster or slower but these did the job for me. I now have a cool CPU and GPU without the excessive noise. I have not noticed any heat buildup as yet but will keep an eye on things. After all it is a lounge room appliance. |
