While knoppmyth is very good about detecting the PVR-250 now, you still have to set your record profiles based on your preferences.

After quite a bit of searching and testing I've documented a set of working NTSC record profiles for the PVR-250 & 350 that are optimized for SVCD & DVD burning.

I've structured the wiki so others can add their settings & suggestions as well, I'm sure there are other approaches. And the Pal section needs to be fleshed out as well.
