Post subject:  Via 8235 CMI9761 Getting sound on live/playback
First, make sure audio works.

Apps -->Viewers --> XawTV
Hear anything?

Make sure your line out from your PVR tuner card is going into the Line-in on your audio card with a patch cable. Make sure the speakers are plugged into your line-out, turned on, volume up.

If you still hear nothing then use Xterm to open the shell and run

$ alsamixer
(do not use aumix for this sound chip)

Select the Line input and hit 'm' to unmute it. Make sure Master and PSM are unmuted as well ('MM' = mute)

Now that you know your audio inputs, outputs, and speakers are working. run alsamixer again.
Select and mute all outputs labled "IEC958".
Hit TAB to go to capture view.
select "Line" and hit space to use it as a capture device.
Adjust the "capture" volume to around 75%
