G'day,

There was a problem which still exists in R5A16 with focus not returning to Myth after XIne exits.

The workaround used to be that you got the xine-lib and xine-ui source code and commented out some lines in event.c.

The latest release of xine appears to not have those lines at all, and after download and make/make install etc, solves the xine focus thing without having to change any source code.

Hope this helps someone.

Matt

Yeah, I noticed this problem with a previous install. Having just upgraded to R5A22 it's still an issue:

Problem:

After playing a DVD and exiting Xine focus doesn't return to MythTV. You can see this by trying to exit the frontend - no highlighting of Yes/No confirmation.

Solution:

First I did an:
Code:
apt-get remove xine-ui
to remove the existing pkg.

Then grab xine-lib and xine-ui from: http://xinehq.de/index.php/releases I used xine-lib-1.1.0.tar.gz and xine-ui-0.99.4.tar.gz.

Compile/install using: http://xinehq.de/index.php/faq#BUILDING

Note: When compiling xine-ui I first did:
Code:
export XINE_CONFIG=/usr/local/bin/xine-config

Xine will now return focus when it exits :)

For those folks like me (too lazy to compile stuff unless absolutely necessary) there is a simple workaround for this.

Once u exit xine, focus is lost on mythfrontend, but you can get it back by navigating to mythweb or mythnews and firing up mythbrowser. Once you exit mythbrowser the focus is restored to the frontend.

using ivtv version 0.8.2 in Knoppmyth R5E50
PVR is both frontend and backend
