After a clean install of Knoppmyth R5A30.1 I followed these instructions to get the MCE USB remote working: http://www.sysop.ca/?p=55
In case the link is down, here is the quick and dirty:
I installed and ran through the guided setup, when it came time to select the remote, I selected the MCE USB older model.
After finishing the rest of the Knoppmyt config I follwed the steps on the link above:
I changed the following line in /etc/init.d/lirc :
start-stop-daemon –start –quiet –exec /usr/sbin/lircd — $LIRCD_ARGS \
to:
start-stop-daemon –start –quiet –exec /usr/sbin/lircd \
Restarted lirc and tested that things worked with irw.
Started myth back up and start using your remote.
