edit /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf change the following line: Code: command=/usr/X11R6/bin/X -audit 0 to: Code: command=/usr/X11R6/bin/X -audit 0 -dpi 100

What exactly does this accomplish, and how do I know if I want to do it? |

Well resolution and DPI (Dots Per Inch) go hand in hand.. it basicly affects the size of everything on the screen.. 100dpi is what many of the mythtv themes are desgnined for, and what Bgm recomends.. Think of it this way.. you set your screen resolution to 100.. with a dpi of 10. that means your screen would be (100 / 10 = 10) 10 inches acrross. another example you set your screen resolution to 100.. with a dpi of 50. that means your screen would be (100 / 50 = 2) 2 inches acrross!!! Everything would be tiny! So in the exmaple you shranke or grew your screen without moving your resolution at all.. but the bottom line is try it.. and see if you like it.. if not.. change it back. |
