I am currently using the RRD tool as described in here.

http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... highlight=

and over on the Knoppmythwiki.org here>
http://knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page ... raphsHowto

Both of these community sites are great resources. (Shameless buttering up)

Anyway, I am running two SBEs on top of the MBE.
I would like to be able to monitor a couple of the key items on these and have it displayed in the webpage I create from the RRD scripts.

Specifically I was thinking CPU temp and CPU usage.

How would I go about doing that?

I was thinking since the SBE's do not have Web resources running, I would need to setup scripts on the MBE and have it poll the SBE's when they are available. Of course that brings to mind another issue, the SBE's are not always on (saving power) so I probably need to add something so it continues to work for all other items even though some are not available.

I am a complete 1D10T when it comes to coding and scripts so any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Bump!

So actually a little more than a Bump.

Trying to figure this out. Would it be as easy as setting up the rrd scripts on the appropriate backend I want to monitor? Then set the part of the script that is the log to write to the same location I am using for my MBE rrd logs?

Or would it be easier to have my MBE poll the RRD logs I have set on an SBE .

Either way I am sure I would have to do some mounting of directories of one machine to the other. With ambient temps on the higher end I am concerned with the CPU temp on at least one of these SBE's It is in a fairly closed in area in the Family TV room and I am wanting to get some graphing measurements before I start mounting some air handlers in there to move around some air hopefully without creating a wind tunnel. hehe.

TIA

During the install (on SBE), did you enable RRD? If so, is Apache running on the SBE? Get where I'm going? Or are you looking to combine RRD for M/SBE on one system?

Thanks for the response.

First, I am still running R5C7, the other effort (the one that lets me get my toys) has been keeping me extremely busy. Seen some of the Fires out here? First day I have been home or not on a 16/8 day in about 3 weeks.

Looking like a fall project now. ugggh
New Season start ups....

Second, I am running rrd on my MBE/FE only at this point. Apache is not running and all the other pieces for RRD have not been installed yet on the SBE/FE boxes. I would like to be able to capture statistics from the SBE/FE combos and have that displayed through the web interface on the MBE/FE.
