Same here. Just installed last night on R5D1. My video source is all HDTV, using PCHD3000 or Air2PC5000. Anybody have a solution?

It may sound strange - but I'll mention it anyways...
I was having major problems trying to make this work. I was having the "aspect ratio" issue mentioned as well as the problems with "unknown format iPod" (or something worded like that) when running Nuvexport manually. ffmpeg looked like it had the correct options enabled, but would refuse to work.
I ended up doing an update to the newest gcc (4.04?) and did a re-make on ffmpeg. All options were enabled in Nuvexport and I never had the aspect error again.
I will have to look carefully at the steps that I did when I do my next upgrade. Hopefully it helps...

Make sure that your Mythweb is running on port 80. I had mine on port 81 and iTunes would see the videos but couldn't download them.

Hi,
Have anyone tried myth2ipod script on a hd recording?
I have myth2ipod installed on R5C7 and everything works great for SD recording (PVR-150).
I have 2 issues for HD recording.
1. The transcoding speed is extremely slow (granted I only run an Athlon XP 2000+). I made an attempt on an HD and it took 3 hrs to do 15% of a 1 hr recording. So I killed it. The process start out at 10-14 fps (fairly reasonable given my specs) but about 13% into the process, the frame rates drops to 1-2 fps. Yikes! I have 512 meg of ram.
2. Playing back the partially generated mp4 file from (1) I can see "extra effects" on the trascoded recording. I can only describe this "effect" as a green tint window moving up and down the video. Sort of like watching the video thru a tinted window while sliding the window up and down constantly.
Very strange.
Anyone experience this?
The HD capture was done by a DVICO Fusion Lite HDTV card.
Any way to fix this?
Thanks for the help.
P.

I just got myth2ipod working on R5E50 and thought I would share my notes since the myth2ipod notes are a bit old, and I was afraid to the use the install script for myth2ipod. So I followed the manual install steps @ http://www.myth2ipod.com/myth2ipod.html
Step 1. Good we have xvid and faac, so we don't need to recompile ffmpeg
Step 2. Skip this step because we're good to go!
Step 3. Followed these steps but changed it to get newer bits:
wget http://umn.dl.sourceforge.net/sourcefor ... rc2.tar.gz
wget http://easynews.dl.sourceforge.net/sour ... 4.0.tar.gz
To get /usr/local/bin/MP4Box to run I had to add /usr/local/lib to /etc/ld.so.conf and then run ldconfig. This was because when you compile gpac it doesn't include the full path to its libraries.
Step 4. Followed this step as written.
Step 5. Followed as written, but updated the item in index.html so that it would be bold like the other links in mythweb.
<br><a href="ipodfeed"><b>iPod Feed dir</b></a>:<br>
I put this on line 151 after the keys link.
Step 6. Followed as written
Final Notes:
Had to change lines in /etc/nuvexportrc
from
<ffmpeg::iPod>
to
<ffmpeg::mp4>
from
</ffmpeg::iPod>
to
</ffmpeg::mp4>
Otherwise myth2ipod would fail with the following messsage:
"Please be aware that the ffmpeg::ipod section of /etc/nuvexportrc should now be called ffmpeg:mp4
Compilation failed in require at /usr/local/bin/nuvexport line 37."
Tested it out on the command line first:
$/usr/local/bin/myth2ipod -cut /myhth/tv 1032_20070102220000.mpg
Tested sucking it accross with iTunes and watched the video on my iPod
Finally, I saw cecil's note about nuvexport being broke in R5E50, so updated that according to his post here:

Thanks! I tried the automatic script, and it made a mess of things. I hadn't invested too much time in R5E50, so I ended up re-installing it.

Sure, I always like checking out the new versions of KnoppMyth. Btw, I can't say thank you enough for KnoppMyth! Kuddos on R5E50, the only thing I had to fix was lirc and that was just coping over backup file!

Pearlous,
Nice write-up for getting this to work in R5E50. I can also comment that this works in R5E50 from the commandline, but...
I cannot get it to work as a User Job. I get an error about missing the "termcap" for the file selected for encoding, then a cascade of errors presumably as a result. I could post the log file for this, if necessary, but it is tedious to do if no one if monitoring this thread.
Have tried the script (/usr/local/bin/myth2ipod) with and without the "-cut" in the User Job box as well as with and without quotations for the "%FILE" and "%DIR%" portions , but it doesn't seem to matter. Cannot figure this one out.
But it works flawlessly as mythtv user from the commandline from both a local and remote (ssh) terminal window.
Would welcome some input.
