| Post subject: | running apt-get update |
Recently i wanted to install something on my mythbox. after running apt-get install, it failed telling that, first an apt-get update needs to be run. So i want to take your advice here. Is is safe to run an apt-get update ? Is there a possiblity that it will update some recent versions of any modules and that will make myth start behaving oddly ? I am running R5B7 thanks |

The update option is safe, it just brings the DB of available stuff into sync with the repositories. The upgrade option is the dangerous one, and definitely not recommnended.
