Post subject: | Database GUI |
Is there a GUI interface to the database? If there isn't one installed as part of R5C7, is there a GUI that is generally recommended? I've got some nuv files laying around on a Windows box from a prior Mythtv incarnation that I gave up on a while back. I'd like to see if I can get them into my new Knoppmyth install. I figure if I can explore around the database internals I may be able to figure out how to get these nuv files to show up in the mythfrontend GUI. |

The one in webmin is probably your best bet. The wiki page on enabling webmin is here - http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=WebminHowTo After you get that up, and get signed in, it's under Servers -> MySQL Database Server -> mythconverg |

A database GUI is handy at times. I use CocoaMySQL on my Macintosh. If you are just trying to add orphaned recordings, use the program described here: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7989 |

in r5c7 you need to add the security releases line in /etc/apt/sources.list deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian stable main contrib non-free deb http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US stable/non-US main contrib non-free deb http://security.debian.org stable/updates main contrib non-free I thought security was for patches. |

I did that, selected Apache, it restarted Apache and finished, but could not actually access it - the home page was still the default KnoppMyth one, and adding /PhpMyAdmin onto the end did nothing. Then realised that Apache is case sensitive. It needs to be: http://your-backend-name-or-IP/phpmyadmin Hope that saves someone a few minutes! |

I use Aqua Data Studio. It's cross-platform and free for personal use. You can also connect to other database types like Oracle and Sql Server if you ever need to. It's at http://www.aquafold.com/index.html |
