Post subject:  Tuner automatically recording without schedule

Excuse me being a noob but I have a random question. I built a box using R5D1 pvr-350 with tv out and it works great.
However when i watch live-tv i notice it recording (obviously so i can rewind and fast forward) but when i press the exit button on my silver remote and go back to the "main menu" and decide to go back to watching live tv i get a message saying that the tuner is in use.
i look at the scheduled recording and there is what i was watching before still recording though I did not schedule anything. is there anyway to just delete the recording if i exit live tv or am i missing something??

In the new versions of MythTV LiveTV is treated like a recording so depending on your settings, when you would go into the Recordings menu you would see all the programs that you have been watching.

As to your particular problem from memory there is a setting that will warn you if there is something in the buffer and not let you clear that without some interaction. To test this, simply watchTV and then exit, don't fastforward, rewind or pause. After exiting, attempt to watchTV again and theoretically you should be able to watchTV without issue.

If this is the case then you know which setting you have to find, otherwise I'm lost.

Thanks for the quick reply and information. My other mythtv box uses R5A16 and i wasn't used to seeing the recordings.
Yes if i don't ffwd, rewind or pause, exit live tv view then go back in i do not see that "error" message. I think before i paused and fast forwarded then exited and then went back in and that flaged that message. I guess the settings for this would be under the general or tv settings?? Thanks again
