Someone actually posted in here...I was thinking of deleting the forum... If you are thinking of using VNC to view tv remotely it won't work. Unless you installed it, I didn't include VNC. If you just want to log into your server to configure stuff, use SSH or webmin.

I wasn't planning on using VNC to view TV remotely. I was looking to use VNC to kick off builds after I have modified code.

I have apt-get vnc successfully and right now every time I boot my mythbox I get to an xterm and start vncserver. My mythbox goes back to mythtv and when I connect from a remote windows box I connect but mythtv is not running remotely. So as I work (I open an xterm and view and edit files) remotely using VNC I can watch tv or listen to music on my mythbox. Eventually when I move my mythbox to the living room I would like a way to start builds on my mythbox. My mythbox is my only linux box therefore I need a means to compile code on linux. I was hoping VNC would help.

Thanks,
Mike G.

Hi Mike, no need for VNC to do that, go get PuTTY for your windows box. You can use it to ssh into the myth box. :)
