Post subject: | files left in mytharchive directory - can these be deleted? |
After upgrading to mythtv 0.20 I am now able to archive and make DVDs from the frontend. (Very cool feature!) However, after creating a DVD of a few shows, mythtv left all the files in the mytharchive directory. Can I just go in and delete all these files now that the DVD is created and burned? I don't know why they're still in there, but they're taking up monstrous space and I will need to reclaim that soon... Would anyone know of any repercussions if I just go and delete all these files using "rm" from a filesystem level? Should this be done in the frontend somewhere or does the database have no tie-ins with this? Thanks! SF |

Yes, you can delete them with no problems although its best if you can spare the space to let MythArchive do the cleaning up, they will be deleted the next time you create a DVD anyway, that's because the latest svn version in trunk assumes that some of the files are still there after a DVD is created so you can do things like review the logs or re-burn a disk and shortly you will be able to create a disk label or burn the label using HP's lightscribe etc. in order to do that it needs some of the files left over from creating a DVD. |
