Originally I was playing avi files streaming over the wireless network with mythvideo, it would frequently stutter and skip for up to 2 minutes at a time. I figured no biggie, I will just get another hard drive for the local KnoppMyth box and move the files locally. (More disk space is always nice anyways)
The only problem is this didn't fix the problem. While far less frequent in occurrence, it still does happen, and usually when my significant other is watching something, it will stop playing for about 5-10 seconds, continue playing for a couple more, then the video will freeze again. This pattern usually continues for a few minutes.
Needless to say I would like to get this resolved before she yells any more...(I swear she loves all the features it offers her...but heaven forbid something not be perfect
)
Anyway. I was able to monitor top while a video was running to see if for some reason mplayer, or something else was hitting my CPU hard for some reason, but it sat calmly at about 1-3% (2.5GHz CPU)
Other than that, I really don't know what relevant info I could give, the disk the files are located on is using ReiserFS, it is running version R5D1...
