Hi all, In Mythweb, my MythstreamTV setup page has the "Launch Stream" link as [mms://my.host.com:8001] | [http://my.host.com:8001]. I would like to change this to my address, and I think I found the location in another post to do that as /usr/share/mythtv/mythweb/modules/streamtv/tmpl/compact/createfile.php /usr/share/mythtv/mythweb/modules/streamtv/tmpl/default/createfile.php At first I was going to use my dynamic DNS address, but then I thought if VLC or WMP has to query the DNS service for IP address on every packet, it is probably slowing down the potential transfer speed. Does anyone know if VLC only has to find the IP address once and my concern is unfounded? If that is a potential problem, I thought maybe I could use nslookup and some regular expressions to resolve my IP address through my dynamic DNS service, then insert it into the PHP code. Does anyone know if this is possible, and could suggest some resources for me to figure out how to do it? Thanks. |
