hi all
Ive installed r5e50 on my newly built Via cn1000 and after the problems of no xorg.conf and trying to get things moving ive come to two problems which have me stumped.
1 ctrl-Alt-F1 doesn't work (it doesn't switch me anywhere)
2 no suspend how does one shut the thing off.
help please!

Hi,

ctl alt F1 only applies IF the gui is running. Since it is not, try alt F1 instead. If you have boot splash, try esc.

I don't do suspend so can't help.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about the movin' on as you will be missing out on one big time awesome system :) Maybe with a little more details the folks could have helped you get up and running as most of the issues are small things.

Best wishes and good luck finding anything close.

How are you installing KnoppMyth? In particular what, if any, parameters are you passing to the install routine?

I've found that the [Ctrl][Alt][Fn] combinations didn't work after installing KM (R5E50) if I used
Code:
tv lang=uk

or
Code:
tv lang=gb

Instead I just used
Code:
tv

and then changed things for the UK after KM was installed
Code:
# apt-get update
# apt-get install locales
# dpkg-reconfigure locales

    select en_GB ISO-8859-1
Code:
# install-keymap uk

within MythTV change language to English (British)
    Utilities / Setup | Setup | Appearance
    Localization page
    Language: English (British)
change X11
Code:
# vi /etc/X11/xorg.conf

change Option "XkbLayout" "us" to "uk"
