I accidentally pressed cancel during the intial setup dialog (date, network ports, etc) after installing KnoppMyth R5E50 as a fresh install. Now I have to do: "pump -i eth0" everytime I boot the machine to activate the ethernet port.

How can I go through the setup again (without re-installing)? I don't know what other setups didn't get completed.

I'm new to Linux so forgive my inexperience.

Mike

Open an xterm using <alt><x>. Type
Code:
touch .configure
Press <ctrl><alt><bkspc>.

Not unless you made a backup before doing it, or have a recent backup in /myth/backup from a recent upgrade.

OBTW - If you just want to go through the upgrade setup again you can touch .upgrade instead of .configure and if you just want to run the network configuration you can use "netcardconfig --force"

I disagree with the "recent" backup. If you don't do a backup immediately prior to the upgrade, all TV shows recorded between the backup and the upgrade will be orphaned, since the relevant database entries would be lost.

Recent is relative. ;) Add the "greatly improved in recent versions" myth.rebuilddatabase.pl script and you might be able to get back to 95% of where you were. _IF_ the /myth partition is intact.

Thanks tjc - I did use a "recent" backup and the rebuilddatabase script and got things back to where they were.
