Post subject: | color boot text - /etc/lilo.conf ? |
I'd like to change the size and color of the text you see from the point when LILO runs to the point when X starts. I see that the "boot text" of the recent Knoppmyth installer cds has color text and the characters are smaller than the normal boot text. After upgrading or installing Knoppmyth into the hard drive, the boot text is then "standard white pc text" - about 80 characters wide on screen, and all-white text -no color. How can I set my "boot text" to be smaller and color like with the Knoppmyth installer? Eric |

I'm partway there. I edited the file /etc/lilo.conf and changed the line that says "vga=normal" to "vga=788" and saved the file. Then, when back at the command prompt, I typed: Code: # lilo -v
On the next reboot, the text was small - like during the boot from the Knoppmyth cd, but it was all white text. What is the trick to making it color? Eric |
