I am new to mySQL and was wondering what's the default password for the root logon?

I'm not sure there is one... If you're logged into the system as root and say:

Code:

mysql -u root mythconverg

It just works...

By default, most MySQL installations do not have a password for the root user. KnoppMyth included.

(that is in the MySQL users stuff, not the actual Unix root user password)
