Hey guys,

Before I get started I just want to tell you guys how appreciative I am of the work you guys do on the forum and the wiki - this really has been a valuable resource for %95 of the problems I dealt with when putting together my mythtv box.

That being said I have one small issue I’m trying to address because I would really like to contribute to the F@H team to help reimburse you guys for the effort you guys have put into helping people. (Yeah, I know reimbursing someone else for some work that you did isn’t really reimbursing someone at all - but it’s really all I can do)

The problem is I have another process that runs as nice and it seems that top is reporting that the two processes are sharing the time 50/50. Is there any way to adjust the nice value of folding at home to make it less of a priority then my encoding script?

Thanks in advance guys.

What type of processor are you using? Is it hyperthreaded?

What nice level is it running at?
