Are you running R5F27 backend with an XBOX frontend? Which frontend version are you running?

I'm having a compatibility problem since upgrading to the latest KM and XBOX verions. Everything seems to work except for when I'm viewing the list of my recorded shows and the list is updated - then the frontend hangs.

Everything was working fine with 0.19 for the longest time but I had to upgrade to get SD. My WAF is dropping quickly.

Personally I use XBMC and a shortcut mapped to /myth/pretty. Don't watch live TV so that works fine for me.

I'm also using XBMC, but I'm not just mapping to the pretty dir, I've installed the MythTV XBMC Script that ties into my database and allows me to delete/schedule recordings. It works quite well all in all.

XBMC seems nice but I've already got the machine converted to run Linux only and I like MythTv.

Does anyone else actually have Myth working on Xbox? Can I try to run Knoppmyth frontend on it?

I have 0.20.2 running on my xebian front end (I have R5F27 on the backend). Someone on the MythTV mailing list set up a repo. Here's instructions. Works great for me.

That's the version I'm running. No problems? I'm running out of things to try.

I'm not having any problems at all. Have you found anything in the logs, either front end or back end?

In your logs I can see where it starts timing out, and when the connection is dropped it doesn't reconnect properly. But I don't see anything there that indicates what the problem might actually be. I have tried to replicate this on my setup, but I cannot. My frontend never seems to disconnect from the backend at any point - it does go idle though. Now, just so I have this straight - you are in the "Watch Recordings" screen viewing all your previous recordings, and when the list is altered by something else such as being expired, that's when you experience the problem. Is that correct? Do you have any problems with any other remote frontends or possibly the KnoppMyth FE itself?

Thanks, evdogg, for taking a look. You got it right.

I don't normally run the frontend on the backend machine but I fired it up and had the same thing happen. In a way, this is a relief because it's probably has something to do with my particular configuration and not something generally wrong with the Xbox software.

Taking a hint from some other postings, I ran myth.rebuilddatabase.pl. There were some orphaned .mpg files (which I deleted) and I think that there were some extra rows in the recorded table.

I set the '-v all' option for the server the next time it start up so maybe that will provide some clues.

You could also try renaming and re-IP_ing your xebian box. Thatll force it to make new entries in the database instead of using your old one for your FE..
