I think reseting the router, solved the problem, reran shepherd -notestdata, and most importantly, reran mythfilldatabase to pickup the output.xmltv... EPG seems to be spot on again....

My shepherd is configured to use oztive (amongst others), but me thinks that it is ingoring that grabber and going with the valid responses from the other 10 grabbers....

I havent used your country=au yet, but was considering it for the next release... It took me ages to get my config working in the first place (xmltvids, epg, other mythsettings), and im loathed to try new things if the old way is still going...

Does it work for upgrading aswell as installing?

Also, have your scripts been extended to consider the dropping of sources, and readding them to enable multirec in v0.21?

Not the right thread to post those questions to, but id be interested to know the answers....

Hi Mike,

The "your scripts" comment was surrounding the "country=au" stuff that i believe you work on?

I read somewhere that you need to manually drop the card definitions in myth-setup, and add them back with multirec enabled.

My wife reported that, after this Sunday, all the scheduled recordings times were off by one hour, and the "record at this time" schedules were missing. There was a change in the scheduled daylight savings switchover in Australia . Instead of changing this Sunday, it will happen next Sunday for a few states. If your KnoppMyth box is old, it might not have up to date timezone files. Here is how to update them. As root: Code: apt-get update apt-get install tzdata reboot mythfilldatabase

Gday Nigel, I'm having some problems with my EPG... seems to be out by the hour... im running Rf527, and its been fine until this weekend... I installed shepherd, and it was grabbing fine, but there appears to be an offset value being applied.. and i cant figure out how to fix it.. I have followed your suggestions, above, but i think i was ok in the first place.. UTC and local time are correct, the EPG is showing the offset, and its gotta be about the shepherd doing something too clever? Any ideas? Cheers, Nathan

seems that by typing my woes into the forum helped me think it through... my problems seemed to be 1) I think the router was kaput, and the mythfilldatabase (that runs shepherd) was not updating the cached epg data, and hence no updates on the EPG 2) I changed time offset from Auto to None I think reseting the router, solved the problem, reran shepherd -notestdata, and most importantly, reran mythfilldatabase to pickup the output.xmltv... EPG seems to be spot on again.... And with that i'll leave the balckbox alone! Cheers, Nathan

EPG seems to be spot on again.... Nathan, Last time I checked (two weeks ago) Shepherd couldn't use the new api from oztivo. Is yours using oztivo? Old api data finished Sunday, which would of course explain why your data stopped updating, but wouldn't explain why you've got the new data. Mike

No worries then Nathan. If you upgrade using my scripts, it will install my tv_grab_au, so if you want to keep using Shepherd, you'll have to reinstall it. Cheers Mike

I only ever add support to current and development versions, though, and I think most other developers are the same. I'm not sure what you're referring to with the scripts, but will look into it. Short answer is probably not. Mike

I was wondering if there was a nifty way to do this on upgrade, rather than having to fiddle with myth-setup after the upgrade is done? Is this nonsense talk? I've been pretty busy recently with other work related stuff (Solaris) so haven't looked into all of .21's feature list. Educate me, baby! Mike

Solaris huh.... sounds like fun, you arent doing work for a govt agency are you by any chance? As for the education, i think i'll have to hit the books for a few weeks to provide anything you dont already know... i read somewhere that the multirec feature in 0.21 (that enables a single tuner to record multiple programs that are on the same multiplex) requires the card def to be recreated... not sure why, or if it is something i misinterpreted.. Ohh well, back to the VM farm, and to my favourite legacy app upgrade task!
